Features Training Intelligence User Guide Support Privacy App Store

Gymnal, LLC

Privacy Policy

Effective August 26, 2026

Your training records stay on your device. Gymnal has no user-account server or Gymnal cloud holding your workouts, health records, body measurements, notes, or Training Intelligence conversations. Gymnal contains no advertising SDKs and does not track you across apps or websites.

Records stored on your device

Gymnal stores workouts, sets, exercises, notes, weigh-ins, body measurements, programs, badges, settings, learned exercise names and spelling aliases, analysis feedback, and Training Intelligence conversations in local app storage. Gymnal does not transmit those records to Gymnal servers or cloud AI services.

Gymnal also stores an install-local one-time Max preview status—start, expiration, transition-notice, and last-evaluation timestamps plus a pending entitlement-verification flag—only to enforce the fixed preview period. This status is excluded from portable backups and is not sent off the device.

Gymnal marks its live database and rolling Gymnal backup file as excluded from automatic iCloud and computer device backups because those files can contain Apple Health information. The downloadable on-device intelligence file is also excluded because it can be downloaded again.

Apple Health

Apple Health access is optional and controlled by iOS. With permission, Gymnal can read workouts and routes, steps, active calories, heart rate, sleep, walking, running, and cycling distance, flights climbed, height, body weight, date of birth, and biological sex. Gymnal uses this information to import training history and produce on-device analysis and scoring.

Gymnal currently requests read access only and does not write workouts or health records to Apple Health. Health information is processed locally, is not used for advertising or marketing, and is not sent to RevenueCat, Cloudflare, Expo, or any Gymnal server.

On-device Training Intelligence

Training Intelligence runs on the device. Workout context, prompts, conversations, and generated analysis are not sent to a cloud AI service.

After onboarding and eligible Training Intelligence access are confirmed, Gymnal automatically downloads a one-time on-device intelligence file of approximately 1.1 GB. Gymnal remains usable while the file downloads or when it is unavailable; deterministic rules and templates continue to provide supported analysis.

Cloudflare delivers the intelligence file from its content-delivery network. The download request contains no Gymnal workout or Apple Health records. Like any internet request, Cloudflare can process standard connection information such as IP address, request time, and the requested file.

Subscriptions and purchases

Apple processes Gymnal subscriptions and payment information. Gymnal never receives card or bank details.

Gymnal uses RevenueCat to display products, validate purchases, restore access, and provide subscription analytics. Gymnal configures RevenueCat without a name, email address, advertising identifier, or Gymnal account identifier. RevenueCat generates a random anonymous app identifier and can process Apple receipt and purchase history, entitlement status, last-seen time, device type, and operating system. RevenueCat does not receive Gymnal workout, health, body, note, or Training Intelligence records.

Gymnal's App Store privacy label identifies purchase history as Data Not Linked to You, used for App Functionality and Analytics, with no tracking. RevenueCat describes its practices at revenuecat.com/privacy.

App updates and file delivery

Gymnal can check Expo's update service for compatible software updates. These requests can include standard connection information plus app, platform, runtime, update, and release-channel identifiers needed to select the correct update. They do not include Gymnal training or health records. Expo describes its practices at expo.dev/privacy.

Backups, exports, and sharing

Gymnal can create a portable backup or formatted export when requested. The file is generated on the device. Gymnal's rolling backup remains in the app's local Documents folder and is excluded from automatic device backups. When a copy is shared through the iOS share sheet, it goes only to the destination selected by you.

What Gymnal does not do

  • No Gymnal account and no Gymnal cloud copy of training records.
  • No advertising SDK, advertising identifier, or cross-app tracking.
  • No sale of personal, health, workout, or purchase information.
  • No general product-usage analytics SDK.
  • No transmission of Apple Health information to third parties.

Retention and deletion

Personal and training records remain until they are erased inside Gymnal or the app is deleted. Privacy & Data in Gymnal Settings removes personal and training records from Gymnal's local database, its rolling backup, and settings. It retains only the one-time Max preview status on that installation so deleting data cannot restart the preview; deleting the app removes that status. A copy previously shared outside Gymnal remains under your control at the chosen destination.

Apple and RevenueCat retain purchase and technical records under their own policies and legal obligations. A support email is retained only as needed to answer the request, maintain ordinary business records, or meet legal obligations.

Children

Gymnal is not directed to children under 13. Gymnal does not create accounts or collect training and health records on Gymnal servers from any user.

Policy changes

A material change to Gymnal's data practices will be reflected here with a new effective date and disclosed in the app where required.
